Decorating Cookies!

One of my favorite things we did during the Christmas season was decorating cookies at my friend Cara's house! (Yep, the "Cara's Cupcake" lady!)  She and her little man, Kellan, invited us over to decorate.  Our original date got canceled 2 or 3 times because of that "lovely" ice storm.  We finally got it rescheduled for after school on Sophie's birthday! 

Cara said that she wasn't organized.....but I didn't believe her.  She even had cute little snowman aprons that she had made the kids!  But we didn't use them, we wanted those cuties to stay clean!  (not really, they weren't quite finished because that ice storm kept her from getting to the store to get whatever she needed to finish them!) They are all done now, though!

She had the cutest little table set up with all sorts of sprinkles and cookies.  There was even plastic on the store to catch any "oops" that might be made! 

Kellan is more than ready to decorate!  Does he know how to smile for the camera or what?

(Also, he is wearing a shirt that was Sutton's, it was one of my favorites.  I love seeing our outgrown clothes being used by our friends!  Always makes me smile, seeing how cute they are and remembering my own cuties wearing them!)

I think maybe Kellan has seen his mommy decorate with icing before!  He looked like he knew what he was doing!

(By the way, Sophie is wearing her "ladybug" dress for her birthday.  She had a ladybug themed party so we had to have a ladybug dress....right?!)

Well, I think all bakers have done it...you just have to taste the frosting!  Believe me, it was yummy.  I might have gotten in a taste or two!

Oh we had so much fun!  

While all this decorating was going on, Cara was decorating Sophie's birthday cake!  It was really fun to watch her put a cake together!  More pictures to come in the next post!  Thanks so much for inviting us to decorate.  We had so much fun!  Let's make this an annual tradition!  Love you Cara and Kellan!
