Mt. Magazine

 We took another mini vacation to Mt. Magazine, Arkansas, a few weeks ago.  Chris has been working a lot this summer, and he finally got to finish a big project and got some time off.  So we jumped in the car and took a trip during his vacation time!  We wanted to go somewhere close but cooler than the crazy 100+ degree weather and drought we've been having here in Texas.

 It was great.  We spent 3 nights in a great cabin right on the bluff, with walking trails very close.  One day we took a hike up to the HIGHEST point in Arkansas and had a picnic!

While we ate our picnic on the TOP of Arkansas, Daddy filled out the "we were here" book!

 While we were at the top, another family came with some kiddos!  Sutton was kind of shy at first, but then he asked if he could take two handfuls of pretzels and share with the other two boys!  Ahhhhh!  After sharing pretzels, they were best buds.  They all worked together to try and fill up a hole in the log with dirt!

 Heading back down a different way.  Sophie wanted to walk a lot!  She did great, and when she got tired, she rode in the Bob!  Have I mentioned how AWESOME the Bob stroller is!  I think I "thank" Grandma and Grandpa for that stroller at least 5x a week!  It is AWESOME!

 While Mommy took a nap, Sutton and Daddy saw a hang glider.  

The area is really good for hang gliding!  We saw another, one evening as we ate dinner!  The kiddos thought it was pretty cool!

On our way home, we took one last hike.

(in hope that S&S would tire out and sleep.....well, it was a good idea!)

 Chris asked me which I wanted to do, the "forest" hike or the "scenic" hike.  I said, oh the scenic one for sure.  Well, we were RIGHT on the edge of the bluff.  Of course Sophie wanted to walk too!  Well, we made it safe and sound, without any close calls!  I was glad to get away from the bluff, though!

Our first evening, after the kids were in bed, Chris and I sat out on the porch.  We were joined by a group of deer.  Here is a picture of the Mommy and baby!  (These last pictures were taken with my phone!)
