Sutton has been asking to make his birthday cupcakes since I got the stuff at the store on Tuesday! He has been so excited to help! We put Sophie down for her morning nap, and I told Sutton it was time to make cupcakes. Oh, was he ever so excited!!! Yes, I know the poor little guy runs around without clothes a lot. I really was going to put him in clothes for this, since I knew I would be taking pictures. Well, then I thought about the food coloring we were going to use, and I decided to wait on the clothes. Well, turns out, he was very neat. He just got his face a little dirty from all the licking and taste testing!!
Here's our cupcakes. We added food red blue and green food coloring to some of the batter to make colorful cupcakes. (Idea courtesy of Pinterest!)
After Sutton went to bed, I made some frosting and "decorated" the cupcakes. I used another idea via Pinterest. It worked alright on some of them.
You put food coloring in the icing bag and then added the icing. The colors would then kind of swirl in the icing. When I added more, the colors mixed too much........
....and it tuned into more of a Halloween cupcake!!!SCARY!
(Thank goodness Cara is making the cupcakes for Sutton's party. I'll keep sewing, and Cara can do all the cupcakes!)
