We did another photo shoot with Sophie in her baptism dress! For as long as I can remember, I always wanted to make a baptismal gown for my daughter! As soon as we found out we were having a girl, I was thinking about what to make!! Originally I wanted to learn how to smock, and make a smocked gown. Well, that didn't work out....as I never took the time to learn how to do it! One day I was browsing etsy.com and I found THIS dress....you know how just know it when you see it!
Now I just had to figure out how to make it...there wasn't any tutorial.Just so happened, that the same week, one of my favorite blogs had THIS tutorial.
I think it was meant to be!!!Then I remembered....RUFFLE FABRIC....that had to be what the skirt was made of! Then I did a search of patterns and found found a pattern with a similar bodice and then went for it! The top is white dupioni bridal silk (40% off at JoAnn's Fabric) All the patterns happened to be 3.99 each...which is an amazing price. So I got the pattern and saw a shoe pattern sitting out. Perfect to make the little shoes!
Now I just had to make it!
...and we ended up with this!!!!I was THRILLED with how it turned out!
Now I understand why the lady on etsy sells them for $185. Mine was much cheaper, but it was a LOT of time! (and I enjoyed every minute!)
The little shoes! They were so much easier to make than I thought. I was a little scared to make them!
I made a little headband to go with it.But, I accidentally left it at home, and she didn't get to wear it at church!

Sophie is very good at letting me know when she is done taking pictures!I think it's a CUTE face, even when she is crying!!

Beautiful dress and beautiful photos Sara!
