Staycation at the Lake

A week or so ago, we took a little "staycation" at Chris' parent's lake house!  Chris FINALLY got done with a huge project at work, and he took a whole week off.  We spent part of it at the lake.  Grandma and Grandpa and Aunt Amy were going to join us, but unfortunaly they ended up not being able to join us!  We had some fun, just the four of us.

We had a suprise when we got to the lake, it was 93 degrees outside and 95 degrees INSIDE the house!  The air conditioner wasn't working.  We totally lucked out, and found a repair man in Eufaula, on a Thursday about 4pm.  They came right away, and it was fixed by 5:30.  AWESOME!  But since it was so hot in the house, and it takes quite a while to cool it down, we decided to stay in a hotel.  Oh the kiddos were in heaven.  They were so excited to stay in the hotel room!  We kept needing to remind them that they had to be quiet and stop running and jumping on the floors.  I guess with our one story house, they didn't quite understand how annoying loud people upstairs can be!!!!
We took our sea-doo'sto the lake, and Sophie rode on them the first time.  Sutton loved it just as much as last year, and Sophie did too!  She liked going fast and rode with Mommy and with Daddy.

Then we got out the tube (after years of storage) and Daddy plopped Sophie right in.  I didn't think she would want anything to do with it.  Sutton got in with her, and she said she wanted to take a ride.  We pulled them all around, and they both loved it (Mommy was the spotter, and we were going quite slow!  So slow, I was about to pass out from the fuel fumes of the sea-doo!  Finally Sophie decided it was a little fast, and she wanted to get off. So Sutton was excited to have the tube to himself and go "fast".  I could tell he was just laughing and getting sprayed in the face.  They are both still talking about how fun it was.

The kids also went fishing with Daddy several times.  This was Sutton's big catch.  He was very proud!

I mean, THIS was Sutton's BIG catch.....it's all perspective, you know!

Finally on the last day, Sophie caught her first fish!  Oh, she was pretty excited!!!!
Look at that smile!
There were also some beautiful lilllies blooming along the driveway.  I had never seen them there, before!  They were so pretty and smelled so good!
