In the middle of June, my sisters and I all came home for a family visit! It was so wonderful to see everyone. Of course I was amazed at how much all the nieces and nephews had grown.
Last September, a movie titled, August Osage County was filmed near the town where my sister, Megan, works, Pawhuska, Oklahoma. Megan is friends with several of the local law enforcement in the area. One of them, Trooper Armstrong, did security for the movie while they were in town. They filmed a large part of the movie in a old home near Pawhuska. He kindly offered to let us in the house and to look around the area! The house was built in the early 1900's from a kit. The only thing they added was the wrap around porches...upstairs and down, I believe. The movie production people came in and redid a large portion of the house to make it look old and original again. None of the furnishings or decorations where left, so it will be fun to see what it looks like in the movie! Trooper Armstrong (aka Jim) was able to tell us a lot of the changes they made to the house!
The movie is already getting some buzz, especially with some really big name actors in it, like Meryl Streep, Julia Roberts, Ewan McGregor, Juliette Lewis, Dermont Mulroney, Chris Cooper, and more. It was directed by George Clooney (who happened to rent a house right behind my cousin Brian and Faye's house in Bartlesville, OK!!!) Below is a link to the trailer.
It was pretty fun to see the place, even though it was HOT HOT HOT!
Faith, Hope, Sutton and Sophie were seeing if anyone was still inside!
Dancing around the dining room!
Kristen got a picture of me looking for a great picture....
.....I got a great picture of Kristen getting a great photo! The majority of these were taken by here. She is a GREAT photographer!
Sutton hanging all over Faith! She was awesome! If she got tired of her little cousins hanging on her all the time, she never showed it!
All the kiddos posing with Jim, who showed us the house!!! (Notice Sophie doesn't look like he won her over!!)
The kiddos were very excited to finish looking at the inside of the house and go try out the rope swing.
Originally this tree was in the back yard, the movie paid to have it moved to the front. I think it cost something like 10,000 dollars....some CRAZY price.
It looked so fun, the adults had to join in. Kristen was first!
I have a hard time posing seriously when my sister is taking pictures of me.....it's just more fun like that!
Mommy helping Hope!
Mema and Papa took a rest on the front porch and watched ther daughters and grandchildren play!
