Sophie's 2nd Birthday Party, Minnie Mouse Style

We celebrated Sophie's 2nd birthday with a Minnie Mouse themed birthday party. She is one sweet girl in her Minnie outfit!
I made glittery Minnie and Micky Mouse party hats for Sophie and Sutton to wear!  (I found the neatest canvas typed glitter sheets of fabric at Hobby Lobby.  It's by the pieces of felt, if you want to get some yourself!

Running and prancing around is required for a frilly pettiskirt like this!  Sophie was waiting for the party to start!

Impromptu photo posing in the hallway.  She wasn't quite sure what this birthday party stuff was all about, but it looked like it was going to be fun!

Aunt Amy showed Sophie how to twirl.....and she did!

But then she twirled so much she must have got a bit dizzy and hit her head on the wall.  She didn't think that was so fun!

CUPCAKES are here.  Cara made Sophie Minnie Mouse cupcakes AND a smash cake.  Once again she outdid herself. (btw, that lady is getting busy...she had made 3 smash cakes and 15, yes FIFTEEN, dozen cupcakes the night before and had not been to bed yet!  I seriously am amazed at how she does it.)  Oh, Cara, they were so yummy!

We have our plates, Mommy, lets have cupcakes!

The smash cake was so cute.  Cara and I have been big fans of the ruffle icing on cakes since we saw them on Pinterest.  I was so excited she put the ruffles on the cake.  They looked almost too pretty to eat........ALMOST!

These two kids have self control.  They wanted those cupcakes BAD, but they looked only with their eyes and not their hands!

PLEEEEESE, MOM????

Who wants one now, before pizza.  Sophie does!

A couple of pictures with the cake and the party hat.

We were singing Happy Birthday to Sophie and she just looked at us like, WHAT IS GOING ON?

Lighting the candle.

I love how Sutton is just in the edge of these pictures.  He was leaning over as far as he could, while telling Sophie what was going on and trying to help her

Sophie was trying to blow it out, but her puffs were quite small.

So brother helped out!

Sophie wasn't quite sure what to do with the "big" cake.

It didn't take long to decide she liked it and she dug right in!

Sutton has the birthday cupcake thing down to a fine art.  He dove right in!

Yep, that's a grin of approval for the cupcakes, Cara!  We let the kiddos eat their cupcakes before they ate their lunch of pizza.  It was a great idea until we told Sophie she had enough cake, and took it away.  There were a few tears, but she did end up enjoying her pizza.

Time to open presents.

We were proud of Sutton, he showed great self control by letting Sophie open her gifts.  We could tell he wanted to grab them and open himself, but he restrained himself so well.  He did help some, but he let Sophie do the majority!  Sophie got some glittery jeans and a pink camo shirt!

I think this was for Mommy, a long sleeve bib.

Sophie got her first doll house.  Sutton and Sophie are having a blast with it.

A washing machine and ironing board.  Yeah, help with the laundry!

Sophie's last present was a Little Tykes Cozy Coupe redo. I saw a car like this on Pinterest months ago, and wanted to make it for Sophie so bad!  It is a Minnie Mouse Bow-bile.  I got the car from a friend that didn't need it anymore.  They bottom was already red and I spray painted the top black.  Then I found some glitter spray paint at Hobby Lobby, and spray painted red glitter all over the bottom, and a black/silver glitter all over the top.  It was so fun.  I had a friends husband make the ears and bow for us, and Chris helped me get them on the top of the car.  I think it turned out AWESOME.  Sophie just stared at it for a second.

Then she ran over and got right in to take it for a test drive!

The Minnie Bow-bile is a huge hit around our house.  Sutton and Sophie take turns (for the most part) driving the Minne car and the firetruck all over the house!

Thanks to everyone who helped Sophie's big day so much fun!  Thanks to Grandma and Grandpa and Aunt Amy for driving down to help us celebrate.  We missed everyone who couldn't make it.  I also realized I really need to get better about getting other people in the pictures.  I didn't get a picture of Sophie with anyone other than Sutton!
