| I got to go on our 3rd Annual Girls Trip to Florida this year! What started out as a 40th birthday celebration for Sherry has turned into a yearly event...which we plan on continuing for a LONG time! |
| Paige, Pat, Sara and Sherry. We were all on the same flight from Dallas to Pensacola. The other two ladies, Brooke and Denisse met up with us from other flights. Let the trip OFFICIALLY begin! |
| Once we got there, got our luggage and the rental car....an experience in itself, our first stop was for some seafood! Paige and Denisse enjoyed some oysters. The rest of us just watched! |
| Denisse was SO excited to have some oysters! |
| Some yummy beachy drinks....just one though. We were responsible as we still had grocery shopping to do! We had to have our food and beach essentials all ready for the next day. We refuse to waste any sun time! |
| And this was the view from our condo on the 15th floor. We didn't make it until after dark the night before, so this was a BEAUTIFUL sight to wake up to! |
| A view of our balcony from the beach. We are on the end, right under the penthouse! (2nd balcony from the top) |
| Summerwind Condominiums at Navarre Beach |
| Finally we are relaxing with our toes in the sand! Notice Sherry, Paige and I all chose a blue polish this year! |
| It's a rough life, my view for the WEEK!!! |
| We had a little ghost crab visitor. Guess he got his days and nights confused! |
| For dinner on our first night, we went for sushi at a local place called the Slippery Mermaid. Love the name! |
| Another night we had dinner at our favorite place, The Grand Marlin, in Pensacola. We had some fun drinks there too! Brooke is taking a taste of several drinks! |
| The blue crab claws were A~M~A~Z~I~N~G!!!! |
| We had some interesting conversation during this long dinner. We were all laughing so hard we couldn't stop! Apparently Paige and I found something extremely funny! |
| We were probably just giddy because we were waiting for their famous key lime pie to arrive. Seriously, this pie is the BEST I have every tasted. We had talked about getting more all year long! |
| Sherry on the beach. I was using my fish eye lens that goes on my iPhone! Kind of cool looking! |
| This picture is for Sutton. I wanted to show him how Mommy was floating in the ocean like he floats in the pool! |
| Sara and Paige hanging out on the beach! |
| Paige getting in some reading time! She always reads interesting books! |
| A storm right off the coast. The color of the water was so beautiful. The pictures just didn't do the green glass color of the water justice |
| Paige, Sherry and Sara. It was a little cool and rainy this day, so we had to put some sleeves on! |
| With the storm weather the waves were bigger. A group of guys came next to us and were skim boarding. Some of the other girls got better picture. It was so fun to watch them, they were good. And, as we had tried skim boarding out a couple of days before (separate post on that coming soon.....with video!) we were extra impressed with their skills. Let's just say, they were a little better than we girls were!!! Hahahah! |
| Another favorite dinner place, Crabs, in Pensacola. This was the view from our table! |
| This is the view of our dinner. It was crab for 2...but Sherry, Paige and I all shared it, and still couldn't eat it all. My favorite was the KING crab! |
| Once again, we made Paige do all the work while we just ate it! Actually, she made Sherry and I work for it a little more this year! |
| After Sutton and Sophie waking me up early soooo many mornings, I was the first one up a lot. Our 2nd to last day there I woke up at 6, took a peak outside and saw this amazing sunrise. I had to run out and take some pictures. This was the view from our balcony |
| Then when I got to the end of the walk way, there was part of a rainbow that ended in the water. It was SO beautiful and peaceful out there. |
| Sunrise through the pier |
| I took these for Sutton, too. I thought he would love seeing the tractor on the beach. |
| So that's how they make the sand look so nice every day! |
| One last day! |
| Posing for some fun pics on our last night in Florida. Dinner at the Grand Marlin was in the plans! |
| We came down early on our last morning. and made some messages in the sand! |
| Love you Chris. Thanks for supporting me and helping make my getaway possible! (Thanks to Grandma Jerry, too, for watching our babies.) |
| And one last picture before we went in to pack out bags, check out and fly home! |
Til NEXT YEAR....Girl's Trip 2013.........
