Sophie had surgery to repair her hernia today! She was a very good girl, especially since she didn't really get to eat for over 12 hours.
She had just about everyone wrapped around her little finger. The lady that admitted us, said she was going to be her cutest patient today. Then when we walked into the pre-op area, we heard all the nurses say "ahhhhh". Also, after Sophie had taken her "happy juice", there were 3 nurses keeping an eye on her through the window in the door. Sophie, spotted them, and was playing smiley games with with. Everyone was laughing pretty hard!
We were also grateful that one of the pastors from our church, Doug Fox, stopped by to visit with us and pray with us. I really enjoyed talking to him, it was a great conversation AND it made the time go by much faster!

Sophie and Daddy reading while waiting for everyone to get ready for her surgery. Sophie insisted that Daddy sit on the floor with her....and he couldn't say no! (and the room was quite small, so it was a little hard to even sit on the floor. What a daddy will do for his little girl)

Sophie after getting her happy juice. She tried to keep going as long as possible, then she would just kind of collapse on Daddy! (Daddy was her favorite before surgery, Mommy was favored a bit more in recovery!)

A picture of her hernia. This really doesn't do it justice. It was much bigger when she is standing.
The surgery went very well, and we meet with the doctor right after. He said that the hernia was VERY large. He usually only has to do 1 suture, and he needed to do 4 on Sophie's. So that gives you some idea of the size! He also said that he was able to give her an "inie" belly button. He wasn't sure if it was possible because of the size of the hernia, but he was successful. Actually, that was the first thing that he said when he saw us....."and we have an inie"
Thank you for all the prayers and positive thoughts. We were confident she was in good hands all the way around, and she is!

Thank you for the update on such a busy day for you! We are so happy to hear she's doing good. We prayed for and thought of her all day!
