Joy of Love, Day 9

Passions and Hobbies

Well, am I ever behind on these assignments...oh well, I'm enjoying them, so that's the most important thing!!!

I decided to photograph one of my passions and hobbies!!! Sewing! Some of you might know that I've been sewing since 7the grade home ec class! (yes, they called it that when I was in school!) I loved the sewing semester! Then, in the 9th grade I found a sewing machine in the JC Penney catalog for 50% off!!! I think it was $125!!! I BEGGED my parents to let me buy it, and they agreed!!!!

Here is THAT machine....I still use it. I think I would feel like a traitor to get rid of it. I can thread it in my sleep!!!
......but get me the right machine at the right price and I might be convinced!

...hmmmmm, let me think of some of the things that have been made on the hours, hours, hours, and hours I've sewed on it......
prom dresses and other formals....for me and both of my sisters
Andrea's bridesmaid dresses
Kristen's bridesmaid dresses
lots of clothes
curtains
bedspreads
too many crafts to name
baby clothes
car seat cover
blankets
burpie clothes
paci clips
projects for friends
tailoring
etc!!!

Some of my current fabric stash....a lot of this is in stuff I've made for Sophie!

Last, a view of what I've seen all those many many many many hours of sewing!
I may take a break for a time, now and then.....but I can't stop.
I LOVE SEWING!!!

I also want to thank two women that really inspired me and taught me about sewing, especially during high school.
