Sutton and I joined a local Mommy's group that went to the Sharkarosa Wildlife Rand this week. It was a little chillier than we anticipated, but we got to be with some fun mom's and kids and saw some GREAT animals. Check out the Sharkarosa website here. They do take in rescued animals, but aren't actually a rescue facility. They have around 130 animals including rare and endangered species! It was FUN!
This is what greeted us, literally, before we even finished paying to get in. This is a 3 week old camel whose Momma wasn't taking care of it. He was born out in the pasture, but came to the main buildings to be bottle fed and he "roams" around the main area becoming friends with EVERYONE. Here he is sniffing Sutton out!
Getting a little closer....I don't think Sutton is too fond of that face in his face! (luckily the baby camel didn't seem to slobber like the adult camels!)
And he went for the hat....boy that puppy dog hat is a hit with so many people!!!
Enjoy the video of the baby camel....at the end, he tried to give me kisses and eat my ponytail!
Look, it's a "Ross" monkey....like on friends!
Can you believe that flexibility????
Then we got to go on a "safari" ride to three different areas to see different kids of animals. The first one had all sorts of horses and zebras. They hung buckets of food from the sides and the animals came Very close. I love this horses eyes. They were so pretty
You could have reached out and touched them!
Sutton's first time to see Zebras! They were so pretty!
Oh, there was a pot bellied pig in there too!!
Next stop...camels!!! They knew we were bringing food!!!
They were this close...I didn't zoom the camera at all!
This little miniature horse thought Sutton smelled good, too
I loved the albino kangaroos! They were so sweet, especially hanging in the pouches.
The one of the left kept trying to get comfortable...first you could only see his feet...
Then he would turn and stick his head out...and then his feet again!
geez, i wish i would have known about this place! it looks so fun!! we went to the fort worth zoo instead...spring break week...it was beyond crowded!!!!
