Colorado Trip Day 1 and 2

Hi everyone! We are on our first family vacation...... of 3!!! My plan is to try and do several posts while we are here, every day IF I'm really productive. That way everyone can experience our vacation like they are here with us, almost!

Our actual day 1 was packing the car and driving to Oklahoma to meet up with Chris' parents and sister, so we could kind of caravan together! It wasn't real vacationy (is that a word???) so I counted yesterday as real Day 1. We left bright and early at 8am. We actually made it out the door at our scheduled time. I couldn't believe it!!! Sutton was so good. He just cried a little bit, and went right to sleep when I gave him back his paci! We made it all the way to Amarillo, where we stopped to have lunch. We stopped at the BIG TEXAN to eat. It was NOT my favorite meal, but the atmosphere was fun.

Then we made the rest of the days trip to Albuquerque, N.M. By the time we got there it was Sutton's bedtime. Sharing a hotel room with a baby that needs to go to bed early wasn't the most convenient, but we made it work. Chris and I just went to bed early too! We were REALLY tired. Of course Sutton decided to wake up @ 4:30 local time! But Chris got him to go back to sleep for a couple of hours, so we got up at a more normal time! Thank goodness for Daddy!

So Day 2 and we're in the car again! Sutton was great, once again. We are SO thankful! We finally made it to our house we're staying at, around 3pm. Everyone made it safe and sound! Yeah! Now we are just waiting for Uncle Greg, Aunt Shilo and Cousin Cadence to get here. Then the Tippett Family Reunion can officially begin.

He also got to try out his new cart/high chair cover that I made him. I was so proud of it....he just LOVED the red fabric. But what caught his attention....a tiny hole in the table cloth with a little bit of fuzz coming out!!! That put my ego in its place!!!

Maybe Sutton is going to be a cowboy!!!!

Sutton tried out a lemon for the first time at lunch on Day 2. He liked it and didn't make a sour face at all!
